OOPS!

Sorry, but the address for the teen section of Internet Public Library was incorrect. It is:

Comments/Search site

I need to start using the blog and reading comments much earlier. It is where your true personalities come out. I assume that you have also read the comments and noted any information that might be useful to you.
There is one more site that I'd like to have you take a look at if you are doing searches with either elementary or high school students. It is the Internet Public Library site, which has a kids section (http://www.ipl.org/div/kidspace), and a teen area (http://www.ipl.org/div/teenspace).

I hope that the class was helpful in updating your skills and that each of you learned at least one thing that you will use or explore in the future. I really enjoyed our two weeks together and I learned a lot from your discussions and projects. Thanks. Mary

Read/Write Web

Happy Saturday! One person responded to my first post -and I'm keeping a list and checking it twice. Thanks, M.
On Monday we'll start looking at the "new" web, the Read/Write Web. Those who use it believe that it will bring revolutionary changes to the way we create and manage information. Will Richardson in his book, Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, says:
"..the classroom of the Read/Write Web is one of seamless transfer of information; of collaborative, individualized learning; and of active participation by all members of class. It is marked by the continuous process of creating and sharing content with wide audiences. ...these technologies are demanding that we reexamine the way we think about content and curriculum."
Think about this quote, and decide if you agree or disagree at this point. Re-evaluate your position after Monday's class. Send me a comment! (click the comment link under this entry) Have a great weekend. Mary
