Welcome

Welcome! I hope you come with an open mind, and the enthusiasm to try some new tools and techniques in your classroom. These days, technology, and particularly, the Internet, are changing so quickly that it's a problem for teachers to keep up. Many students, however, are experts are the newer applications .
This class attempts to bring you up-to-date with some of those techniques that your students are using, and also with what other teachers are doing. We'll start with traditional sites and search, and end with Web 2.0 tools like blogs and wikis.

Hi Mary,
I really appreciate your help and patience! I enjoy the "hands-on" time practice and I'm finding some great sites that are useful to use in my classroom!
See you next week!

Hi Mary,

Wow, the class time went by very quickly. So many interesting facts and sites to use in my classroom. I plan to share many of the websites with my Learning Resource Director. I believe the students will love working with the Science/Problem Solving Site. See you next week.

Wow! Too much information in too little time. I wish the class were offered at 2 or more credits. The class is fast paced and extremely informational. I think I have enough information to last me for quite some time.

I am always looking for great new sites on the computer to use with students and to improve instruction. So far, I have added many of your suggestions to my list!

To add to what one person said, this class is packed with information. It could definitely be longer and worth 2 credits. Not enough time to do each activity justice.
Still enjoying it immensely, though!

Hello, Mary!
Once you start investing time in technology, it becomes contagious! I have been sharing websites with my Tech Coordinator as we try to make technology more prevelant in the classrooms. It is amazing how much information we are learning. The class is intense and jam-packed with incredible resources! I can't wait to use more of these sites with my students directly or share with teachers to use with their students. Your expertise is clearly evident along with your passion for technology! Thanks for bringing technology to life! Pam G.
